About Us
Opened in 2004, St Andrews House is a purpose built, independently owned care home for 60 residents located on the outskirts of St Andrews. Situated within its own landscaped gardens, St Andrews House is within easy reach of both the town centre, shopping facilities and the scenic North East Fife coastline.
St Andrews House is constructed over three storeys with the residents' accommodation located on the ground and first floors.
Our tastefully decorated bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms, each large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. While residents may prefer to shower in their en-suite, for those who require additional assistance, or simply wish to enjoy a hydro spa bath, we have several bathrooms on each residential floor.
Each bedroom is equipped with a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside unit, over-bed table, armchair, footstool and guest chair. You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own personal belongings for your room, providing that they meet Health and Safety regulations. You may also wish to have a telephone landline directly installed into your room.
There is a choice of lounges provided on each residential floor. On the ground floor there is a large television lounge, centrally located. There are also quiet lounges located in each wing, one which has library facilities, where you can enjoy music, radio or simply sit in peace. The first floor is arranged slightly differently and has a television lounge and a quiet lounge located in each wing.
Our home has three dining rooms, one located in each wing on the ground floor, and one central dining room on the first floor. You will be offered freshly prepared meals from our on-site kitchen. Our chefs and kitchen team prepare a variety of menus to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements, using locally sourced ingredients where possible.
We believe that mealtimes are a social event where you can chat and get to know other residents, however, if you would prefer to dine in your room we would respect your decision.
We have a dedicated Diversional Therapy Unit which will provide you with the opportunity to express yourself in a safe and supportive environment.
Out of respect and comfort for others, we have separate air conditioned room designated for residents who may wish to smoke. Smoking is not permitted in any other area within the building and all visitors must smoke outside.
